"Hamilton: An American Musical, Original Broadway Cast Recording." You can't get in to see Lin-Manuel Miranda's justly popular hip-hop reimagining of the Founding Fathers without waiting a while or paying a lot, but you can get yourself ready by listening to Thomas Jefferson and Alexander Hamilton rap-battle about monetary policy and the Whiskey Rebellion on the sound track album. Produced by the Roots.

Questlove Supreme. Speaking of the Roots, at the Fillmore Philadelphia, the plush new Fishtown venue opened by Hall and Oates this month, the Foundry - the upstairs room designed for DJs, up-and-coming acts, and private parties - gets inaugurated with a DJ set by The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon bandleader himself. Sunday at the Foundry at the Fillmore.

Shannon & the Clams. Oakland garage-punk trio fronted by big-voiced singer Shannon Shaw headlines a terrific four-band bill with Sheer Mag, Las Rosas, and the Whips. Wednesday at Undergound Arts.

Chuck Prophet. California rock songwriter par excellence most recently heard from on last year's top-notch Night Surfer plays a solo show. Thursday at Tin Angel.
