Review: Sure, you go to Chickie's & Pete's for the crabs and crab fries (and beer), but every once in a while the locally based chain adds a new item. These new Italian Wings are good. They taste of herbs and lemon, and our batch was cooked perfectly - crunchy on the outside and juicy on the inside.
The only drawback: A few of the wings got all the rosemary. The chicken Parmesan sandwich ($7.95) was also handled with a deft touch at the fryer. It was lightly battered and crispy with juicy white meat chicken underneath. Two of the lighter eating Gang members got salads (ranging from $10.95 to $13.95). and again the chicken was well-cooked. But the salads lacked any panache - just some protein thrown over lettuce. A few more veggies would also have been nice. But, seriously, who goes to Chickie's & Pete's for the salads?
Summary: The wings were delish. and the dishes Chickie's does well, it does real well. Stick to the food that goes well with beer and ball games and you'll do fine.
