NICKNAMES VOTE! A panel of Daily News die-hards chose the finalists in our "Nickname the 2010 Phillies" contest: "Charlie's Hustlers," "Manuel's Maulers," "Red Menace," "Red Reign" and "Ya Gotta Believers."

To vote for your favorite today, just look for the poll right on this page, or click here to jump to it.

LITTLE PIECE: Six months pregnant, Maggie Strimel, of Haddon Township, N.J., attended the 2009 World Series wearing a red T-shirt designed by her husband, Craig, that read "Little Piece" over her tummy - honoring Ryan "Big Piece" Howard.

The Strimels named their son James after favorite Phils - Jimmy Rollins and Jamie Moyer - and James' grandpa.

In August, Baby James and Mom Maggie watched the Phils score eight runs in the last two innings, ending with Carlos "Chooch" Ruiz's walk-off double, in that amazing come-from-behind win over the Dodgers, proving that mother and son are "Ya gotta believe!" die-hards.

IS HE PSYCHIC? "In January, 2008, my daughter Jessica turned 1, and that summer I took her to her first Phillies game," writes die-hard Jason Fliszar, of Collegeville. "When the Phils won the World Series, I took her to her first championship parade.

"My second daughter, Alyssa, turned 1 this summer. I took her to her first Phils game. Like her sister, she will be 1 when I take her to her first championship parade this year. It's karma that both daughters turn 1 the year the Phillies win the World Series!"

MORE NICKNAMES: Heather Coll, of Drexel Hill, and her five kids, ages 4 to 15, like "Broad Street Bashers" and "Broad Street Diamondsty."

Ted Rauch, of Rosemont, wants to honor Halladay, Cole Hamels and Roy Oswalt with a T-shirt: "I'll Drink to That - H2O."

Robert Ewing, of Philadelphia, likes, "Roy, Roy and The Clutch Boys."

Dennis Schoch, a Bethlehem native now living in Cary, N.C., likes, "MASH Unit."

Schoch remembers watching batting practice at Connie Mack Stadium from the stands near the rightfield wall, and looking down on the street below.

"The kids on the stoops would ask who was batting," Schoch said, "and when we said Ruben Amaro [Sr.] or Cookie Rojas, they would sit down. But when we said Wes Covington or Johnny Callison, they would all get up, anticipating a ball flying over the wall."
