Touch 'Em All:

Be careful what you ask for

Pitcher Vance Worley was excited when he found out that former teammate Joe Blanton would be joining the Pittsburgh Pirates' bullpen. He was surprised at what came next.

The Pirates designated Worley for assignment on Thursday to open a roster spot for Blanton, who will essentially move into his role. Pittsburgh acquired Blanton from Kansas City for $150,000 early Thursday.

They were Phillies teammates from 2010 to 2012.

Struggling Sandoval: Weight not a problem

In the midst of a season-long slump during his first year with the Boston Red Sox, Pablo Sandoval insisted he weighs the same as he did last season with San Francisco. He is listed at 255 pounds.

"I'm still the same weight that I was last year, the weight that I finished my season," the 5-foot-11 Sandoval said. "I don't get complaints about it. Do I have to keep working hard? Yes, I do."
