'Cheer'ing on old favorites'

COOL AS ALWAYS, Questlove (a/k/a Ahmir Khalib Thompson) spun Friday night at the third annual Philly Club Reunion, at Cheerleaders Gentleman's Club (2740 S. Front St.) in South Philly.

The party, which came to be by bringing together familiar faces of nightlife from back in the day, celebrated its third birthday with a huge turnout. It had all the makings of a jam-packed, fun-filled, club-party adventure, hearkening back to the days before Fluid closed with Quest spinning upstairs.

Yours truly was in attendance, as were DJ Mike Nyce, Stacey "Flygirrl" Wilson, DJ Dozia, MC Yameen Allworld and Micah the violinist a/k/a Micah Sherman (originally from Philadelphia), who's known for his collaboration with club DJs to produce a unique and sexy sound that had everyone up on their feet Friday night.

Well, almost everyone . . .

The brand-new "Breakfast on Broad" daily sports talk show premieres today on the Comcast Network with an all-star lineup.

Chase Utley, Curt Schilling, Ruben Amaro, Sugar Ray Leonard, Malcolm Jenkins, Bob Costas and Al Michaels welcome you to week one of the program.

The two-hour show debuts today at 6 a.m. and will be replayed from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Comcast SportsNet.

The show plans to open with a wallop. Boxing great Bernard Hopkins made a special guest appearance in-studio.

Changes are coming to the voices of KYW Newsradio and in top brass at CBS Philly.

KYW Newsradio suburban bureau chief Brad Segall is moving to anchor the afternoon-drive segment on a half-hour rotation with Steve Nikazy and Michelle Durham.

Reporter Jim Melwert will replace Segall in Norristown.

"We're extremely fortunate to have Brad in our midst - he's an excellent anchor to fill this position in afternoon drive," said Steve Butler, news director at KYW Newsradio.

Also, in TV, veteran TV executive Brien Kennedy has been named president and general manager of CBS3 and CW57. Kennedy comes from managing WCCO-TV, the CBS-owned TV station in Minneapolis.

Cory Wade Hindorff, a Philly native who placed third on the 20th cycle of "America's Next Top Model," and Jillian Patricia Pirtle, former Miss Black USA, were among the judges of this year's Easter Day parade.

Thousands dressed in their Sunday best sashayed down South Street for Philly's 84th Easter Promenade, which wrapped up in Headhouse Square with jewelry designer Henri David wearing one of his signature "sky-high" hats, followed by the World's Tallest Bunny, the Philadelphia Freedom Band, the Easter Bunny and Mr. and Mrs. Cottontail.
