Sideshow: Oprah and Tyler Perry make a grab for more power

Oprah and Tyler Perry know friends don't always make good business partners, so they entered their new venture with caution. Oprah and Tyler Perry know friends don't always make good business partners, so they entered their new venture with caution. "The most important thing . . . was making sure we would not lose our friendship because of the business. We had to establish ground rules," Tyler, who is creating two new shows for O's network, OWN, tells Essence mag.

O, 59, tells the mag this is a historic event.

"Where else in the history of our African American culture have two really, really successful people who can do whatever they want said, 'Let's come together and be even more powerful - let's take it to the 10th power?' "

Bruni: I want maturity

Model and singer Carla Bruni, 43, has no problem with the dread monster that haunts all professional beauties: Age.

But she wants to meet it with poise, with sentience.

"With aging, if there is no philosophy, there's no serenity, there's no wisdom, there's nothing but falling apart," the former French first lady tells Vanity Fair. "Wrinkles without wisdom are boring. I want to become mature. I want to become wise."

Tidbits 'n' pieces

Jon Bon Jovi and Chris Christie? The rocker was due to join the gov Thursday for the signing of New Jersey's drug-overdose prevention bill. . . .   Viva Forever? It's more like Muoia  Forever: The vivaciously titled Spice Girls musical will close June 29 after a disappointing six-month run. . . . Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon got dolled up in cartoon princess and prince costumes and took along their twins, Monroe and Moroccan, to renew their wedding vows in Disneyland. Sexy stuff.

Mom on Chris Kelly

An autopsy was planned Thursday for Kris Kross star Chris Kelly, 34, who died Wednesday of a possible drug OD. His mom, Donna Kelly Pratte, remembers him as a "kind, generous, and fun-loving life of the party," she says in a statement. "We feel blessed to have been able to share some incredible moments with him."

Art is commerce is art

People mag readers have voted Friends' most fave hairdo, Jennifer Aniston, the woman whose hair they covet the most.

Talk about serendipity: Jen stars in a new Web series called Good Hair Day, which actually is an ad for Living Proof, a hair-care company she co-owns.
