Sideshow: Kim, Kris wed; a show due in Oct.

We begin our report today in the only way possible (without incurring the censure of the Gossip Guild, that is), by bringing you word of the Kim Kardashian-Kris Humphries nuptials. (Enough, perhaps, to keep you sated until the ceremony is televised as a two-part E! special in October.)

nuptials. (Enough, perhaps, to keep you sated until the ceremony is televised as a two-part E! special in October.)

The Wedding of the Week took place Saturday in the wealthy enclave of Montecito, near Santa Barbara, Calif., Kardashian publicist Jill Fritzo tells People magazine and E!

For her second sashay down the aisle (she used to be married to music producer Damon Thomas), the 30-year-old star of the reality show Keeping Up With the Kardashians donned a Vera Wang ivory gown and stepped off on the arm of stepdad Bruce Jenner.

Kris the Groom, a 26-year-old forward who played at a promising level for the New Jersey Nets last season, wore a tuxedo ensemble from Italian fashion house Ermenegildo Zegna.

The B List-loaded, 440-guest roster included Demi Lovato, Mario Lopez, Eva Longoria, Sugar Ray Leonard, Alan Thicke, and Lindsay Lohan. The bride's sisters and TV costars Kourtney Kardashian, 32, and Khloe Kardashian, 27, were co-maids of honor.

'The Help' moves up

The Help

, a drama about African American domestics in 1962 Mississippi, moved up to first place in the box-office sweepstakes over the weekend after making its debut in second place a week earlier.

The DreamWorks film took in $20.5 million, trading places with Rise of the Planet of the Apes, which had held the top spot for two weeks. Dave Hollis, an executive for Disney, which distributes DreamWorks films, attributed The Help's unusual second-week success to word-of-mouth recommendations.

Jerry Lewis back?

The Las Vegas Review-Journal reports that

Jerry Lewis

will return after all as host of the Muscular Dystrophy Association's Labor Day telethon. Lewis, 85, was reinstated Saturday, according to Review-Journal columnist

Norm Clarke

. Clarke attributed the news to a source close to Lewis. The comedian had said in May that this year's telethon would be his last, but the MDA announced two weeks ago, without explanation, that he would not host this year's event. Now, Lewis and the MDA "have made peace," Clarke wrote.
