Inqlings: 6ABC plans tribute Wednesday for Papa

Gary Papa's memorial tribute will play out as most viewers knew him best:

On TV.

The sportscaster's station, 6ABC, has booked the National Constitution Center on Wednesday for a 90-minute program starting at 7:30 p.m.

It is not open to the public.

A station spokeswoman said it would be shown on 6ABC's DTV-2 channel and streamed on the Web on 6abc.com.

Papa, 54, died June 19 of cancer. His burial last week was private.

Among new names being floated for Action News' sports department is Kevin Negandhi, a Phoenixville native, 1997 Temple grad, and, perhaps best of all because of corporate ties, a news anchor with ESPN.

Wedding bells

How to make a Broad Street Bully sound like an old softy? Talk to retired Flyer Joe Watson, now an ad rep with the team, about his bride, the former Jamie Comiskey. The couple, who've known each other 6 1/2 years, were wed June 19 at Bolingbrook House in Radnor. He's 65 and she's 50; each has been married before. They took a three-day trip to Cape May but are planning a honeymoon this fall in Northern California. See photos at http://is.gd/1kKeO.

Branching out

Why own two restaurants when you can have three? Star chef Marc Vetri, who co-owns Vetri and Osteria, signed a lease at 13th and Waverly Streets in Washington Square West, around the corner from Vetri, for a 60-seat Roman-style trattoria called Amís (say it "ah-MEES" - as in "as good as a mile"). He's hoping to open this winter.

Tiffin's Munish Narula is making it three for his empire of Indian eateries. He started several years ago on Girard Avenue near Seventh Street, opened a second spot on Emlen Street in Mount Airy last year, and just signed to open a third in September in Elkins Square (8080 Old York Rd.). In a few weeks, he'll also open Tiffin Etc., an Indian pizzeria, next door to the original Tiffin.

'GMA' here for the Fourth

Marysol Castro of ABC's Good Morning America Weekend will do live weather hits Saturday morning from Independence Hall. The city wants people wearing red, white and blue and carrying signs to show up about 6:15 a.m. for the 7 a.m. show.
