People used to drop $165 and more to dine at Le Bec-Fin.

Now, chef-owner Georges Perrier will take whatever you're willing to pay.

In a promo he's offering at 7 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays throughout July, Perrier will feed up to 20 people a customized four-course tasting menu. At the end of the meal, they get a blank check with space for tab and tip.

Patrons can even bring their own wine, so it's not as if Perrier was expecting to make up any shortfall by selling alcohol.

Tasting menus are somewhat smaller than traditional menus, but his publicist, Patti Klein, says people will not walk out hungry.

But will Perrier?

"Chef feels confident that people will pay what it is worth," Klein says.

Last year, in response to the economy and a global move to more casual dining, Perrier lifted the fixed-price dining that had been Le Bec-Fin's hallmark since its founding. July traditionally is one of the slowest months among Center City white-tablecloth restaurants.

Skater-punk Bam Margera and his camera crew occupied the Cattie Shack Market & Deli in Chadds Ford on Wednesday night for the shooting of a video for the Finnish goth-metal band 69 Eyes. Kevin Cattie, who runs the shop that locals call the "Wooden Wawa," says scenes involved "hot vampire chicks" attacking a counter guy. Executive producer Margera employed his wife, Missy, as an actress.

Cast and crew of The Last Airbender took over Turtle Creek in Limerick on Sunday for director M. Night Shyamalan's fourth annual "best ball" golf tournament, followed by a pig roast (with a vegetarian option). About $1,000 was raised in cash donations to the American Cancer Society. The crew outplayed the cast, whose ranks included Noah Ringer, Nicola Peltz, Jackson Rathbone, Dev Patel, Shaun Toub, and Aasif Mandvi.

Derrick Pitts, chief astronomer at the Franklin Institute, will talk about Galileo on the Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson tomorrow night on CBS.

Chef Jose Garces (Amada, Tinto, Distrito, Chifa) is up at 8:50 a.m. today on NBC's Today show. Garces will discuss his cookbook, Latin Evolution, and prepare halibut fish tacos.

Sprout's The Sunny Side Up Show host Kevin and Chica the Chicken will appear Thursday at Citizens Bank Park to give a "Good Egg Award" to the Phillie Phanatic during pregame festivities. Kevin and Chica will meet centerfielder Shane Victorino, who will instruct them on how to use a bat, catch a ball, and be a team player and good sport. The segment will be shown on Sprout during Good Sport week, beginning July 27.

ESPN.com's Jayson Stark will sign copies of his World Series book, Worth the Wait, on Saturday at the Barnes & Noble in Oxford Valley (10 a.m. to noon), at the Frame Game in Newtown, Bucks County (1 to 2:30 p.m.) and at Citizens Bank Park (5:30 p.m.). Mike Missanelli of 950ESPN will join him at the Oxford Valley stop.
