HOW WILL

Paris Hilton

accessorize a prison jumpsuit?

Oh, sure, it's unlikely that the Slimmer Heiress will become the Slammer Heiress, but L.A. prosecutors said yesterday they will ask a judge to revoke Paris' probation in a reckless driving case, a move that could lead to a jail term.

The decision depends on whether she violated terms of her probation by driving last month with a suspended license.

"We're confident we have sufficient evidence to prove that her license was suspended and that she had knowledge of that suspension," said Nick Velasquez, a spokesman for the city attorney's office.

Paris could face up to 90 days in jail if a judge finds she violated her probation. A hearing was scheduled for April 17.

In January, Paris was sentenced to 36 months' probation, alcohol education and $1,500 in fines for an alcohol-related reckless driving incident on Sept. 7.

Less than two months later, on Feb. 28, she was pulled over on Sunset Boulevard when police saw her blue Bentley Continental GTC speeding with its headlights off. That time, she was driving with a suspended license.

Paris' spokesman Elliot Mintz said at the time that she hadn't been aware that her license was suspended.

Just like all those people who are unaware that they underpaid their income tax.

Ah, irony

Pamela Anderson was looking for a New York restaurant to host a PETA party to help launch "Committed: A Rabble Rouser's Memoirs," the new book by the group's chief, Dan Mathews.

But the London Sun reports that Pam was turned down because PETA was "too political."

A rep for a restaurant chain said: "PETA mobilizes strong feelings on both sides of the fence. It wouldn't make good business sense for us."

And what was the restaurant chain that turned Pam down?

Hooters.

But will it Fillmore seats?

Seeking to turn the Fillmore name into a concert venue brand similar to House of Blues, Live Nation is renovating South Street's Theater of the Living Arts for a new era.

The Fillmore Philadelphia will open April 27, headlined by Upper Darby's Todd Rundgren.

Live Nation says the new Fillmore will sell fresh apples, have a greeter at the door and new hardwood floors, new paint, new chandeliers and new old memorabilia from the Fillmore legend in San Francisco.

"The bottom line is that The Fillmore means something to artists and to fans," said original Fillmore East house manager Jerry Pompili. "It was more than just a building. It was a new concept in the presentation of rock 'n' roll."

The pathos thickens

According to the New York Daily News, Anna Nicole Smith wished to play Marilyn Monroe so badly, she was prepared to help underwrite the filming of Marv Schneider's "DiMaggio: Setting the Record Straight," about Monroe's second husband, Joe DiMaggio.

"She offered to at least partially finance it, about six months before she died," said Schneider. " . . . It was rejected out of hand. She wasn't considered ready. Also, if she got the role, we thought we'd have a tough time getting a top actor to play DiMaggio."

Ya think?

Wrecker sights stalker

Dominick Giordano, a Maryland man accused of stalking Wreckers singer Michelle Branch, was arrested this week at a concert in Sheboygan, Mich., after Branch spotted him in the crowd and asked security to approach him.

She either has good eyes or small crowds.

Giordano was cited for disorderly conduct after employees at the Stefanie H. Weill Center for the Performing Arts stopped him as he tried to run away, police said.

Authorities said Giordano had been following Branch to concerts around the country since 2003 and regularly sends her letters and videos. A restraining order after Giordano was arrested in Arkansas in 2004 has now expired.

"He's been to her last several shows, but it caught her completely off-guard that he was in Sheboygan," said Lt. Jeff Johnston of the Sheboygan Police.

* Marc Malkin, of Planet Gossip on eonline.com, throws some cold water on the rumored Lindsay Lohan-Jude Law linkage.

Although sources close to Lindsay are telling anyone who will listen that she and Jude have become more than friends, sources in the Law camp say it's all in Lindsay's head.

"She wants it to happen," one Law source insists. "But nothing is happening - nor will it."

* Bono became a knight of the British empire yesterday - and joked that his youngest son thought he was about to become a Jedi instead.

Bono was named a Knight Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (who are its leaders, Bill & Ted?) in an informal, laugh-filled ceremony in the Dublin home of British Ambassador David Reddaway.

"You have permission to call me anything you want," Bono told reporters afterward, "except sir, all right? Lord of lords, your demigodness, that'll do."

* Tvweek.com reports that one ABC programming executive will not have his/her dream fulfilled.

The network has canceled "Great American Dream Vote" after only two barely-seen episodes.

Guess that means the guy who wanted a head of hair is screwed.

But the good news . . . It makes an Osmond Brothers reunion a lot more possible for the show's host . . . Donny. *
