WE DON'T KNOW much about the new boy whom child-collector

Angelina Jolie

adopted in Vietnam, but newsoftheworld.com has found out about the boy's natural mother.

She's a heroin addict.

And, according to newsofthe-world.com, she never gave written permission for Angelina to take her son - the boy's grandparents signed the adoption papers.

Pham Thu Dung, 29, may even want the boy back.

Or a kilo. Depends on her mood.

Said grandpa Chien, "Our daughter is a heroin addict and she is a bag of trouble. Her life has been ruled by drugs since she was 16.

"When she finds out that a rich movie star has adopted her baby, she will go after Angelina Jolie for money and make trouble for her."

The paparazzi fight back

Freelance photographers Scott Cosman and Rik Fedyck are suing Denise Richards and Pamela Anderson, charging that Denise assaulted them when they tried to take her picture and that the women lied about the scuffle.

According to the suit, filed Friday in L.A., Denise and Pam were at the River Rock Casino in British Columbia on Nov. 9, 2006, to work on the upcoming film "Blonde and Blonder."

It's like "King Lear," but not.

When Richards saw the photogs taking her picture, according to the suit, she called them "paparazzi scum," assaulted them, seized their laptops and threw them over a hotel balcony.

The laptops, that is.

The confrontation, which lasted more than 20 minutes, was recorded by hotel security cameras, according to the photogs.

Afterward, they said, Denise and Pam "made repeated false and defamatory statements to law enforcement and various media outlets which were deliberately calculated to embarrass, humiliate and ridicule plaintiffs."

Aside from a loss of revenue, the men claim the incident caused them emotional stress. They seek an unspecified number of zeroes with a digit in front.

Tattbits

* Elton John celebrated his 60th birthday with a record-setting 60th concert at Madison Square Garden last night.

The previous record-holders were the Grateful Dead, but their count was a little hazy.

* British authorities denied Snoop Dogg (aka Calvin Broadus) a visa for a series of planned concerts, tour publicists said in a statement Saturday.

Snoop, co-headlining a European tour with Diddy, had been expected to play five dates in Britain.

"Snoop and his team are mystified at the decision and are hoping that the British government will reconsider this decision," spokeswoman Celena Aponte said in a statement.

Mystified?

Last April, Snoop and five other men were arrested and jailed on charges of starting a brawl when Snoop and his posse were denied entry to British Airways' first-class lounge at Heathrow Airport.

Seven officers received minor injuries - mainly cuts and bruises - and one suffered a fracture to the hand.

Mystified? Snoop previously was barred from entering Britain in May 2006.

* TMZ.com reports that a Burbank hotel is pressing charges against Velvet Revolver frontman Scott Weiland and his wife, Mary, for trashing one of its hotel rooms last weekend.

Not content to merely take the shampoo, sources tell TMZ that the Weilands ripped clocks and phones from their sockets and used them as projectiles to make dents in the walls. Their two young children saw the first part of the fight before being taken away by an assistant.

No word on injuries.

* Journalist babes take note: You may not be able to ever find a job at a newspaper, but for at least a year you won't have to worry about competing for work with Tennessee journalism graduate Rachel Smith.

She was chosen Miss USA on Friday night and she didn't even have to flash her breasts or get drunk.

Smith, 21, and 5-foot-11 - the standard height requirement for female journalists - is a graduate of Belmont University and a former intern for the production company behind "The Oprah Winfrey Show."

"I'm speechless at this point, I really am," Smith said after the pageant.

She's a journalist? What happened to "I have no comment"?

* Out-of-rehab Lindsay Lohan is back in the non-news doing what she seems to do best. Newsoftheworld.com reports that she was spotted canoodling with whiny British pop star James Blunt at an L.A. nightclub.

After their up-close-and-personal session, the pair reportedly returned to Lindsay's bachelorette pad.

This is not expected to sit well with Blunt's supermodel girlfriend, Petra Nemcova.

* Representatives of Marlon Brando's estate are suing two furniture companies and a retailer over the sale of a home-theater chair called "The Brando."

That must be one big chair.

If they're forced to change the name, we suggest "The Generico." *
