Gabled dormers put homes at their peak

Installing gabled dormers to your home will create more usable space in the roof of a home, add headroom, windows and architectural interest. All of these things add to the value of your home.

What's a dormer? A dormer is a structural element that sticks out from a sloping roof surface.

According to interior designer Rachel Grace of Houzz.com, a home may feature multiple dormer styles such as gabled and shed. A gabled dormer has more of a doghouse-type shape (as in the photo above) while a shed dormer has a flat roof that slopes at a slight downward angle.
