The Philadelphia Historical Commission's architectural committee next week is to review plans for a residential tower proposed for the 700 block of Market Street on the rear of the historic Lit Brothers Building.

The plan by property owner Brickstone Realty Corp. for the Mellow Independence Center Tower calls for a 32-story structure to be built for $102 million.

The first five floors would be retail and office space with the 28-story tower for residential use.

It would be set back 180 feet from Market Street so as not to distract from the facade of the Lit Brothers Building.
