Kelley Blue Book ranks the top 10 SUVs under $25,000
Are you looking to buy a compact SUV, but are also on a tight budget? Thanks to Kelley Blue Book’s list of the best SUVs under $25,000, there are a ton of brands to consider if you're looking to get the most for your money.
Experts from the vehicle valuation company compiled the top-10 list based on a number of factors including affordability, versatility, quality, long-term operating costs and overall likability.
The 2013 Honda CR-V topped the list, where KBB.com referred to the vehicle as “legendary because it’s so outstandingly reliable and exceptionally easy to get along with.” The CR-V is available in front-drive or all-wheel drive, and “converts from a fuel-efficient, 2-row people hauler to a flat-floored cargo hauler in a snap.”
Eight out of 10 of the vehicles on the list are either completely redesigned or first-ever models. The 2014 Mazda CX-5, which was ranked number 2, is one of these newer models. The high ranking is due to its “fun-to-drive character” as well as its new SkyActiv design technology. The brand new model also has 20 percent more horsepower than the previous one.
Other 2014 models include the Ford Escape; number 3, the Kia Sorento; number 5, and the Subaru Forester; number 7.
The 2013 Toyota Rav4, which came in at number 4, is redesigned without the bulging rear-mounted spare tire that was on the previous model. It also comes with new amenities and technology to keep the driver safe and well-connected.
