This conversation-based exhibition will draw upon the 'visitor as artist' model by inviting guests to participate in the initial stages of its creation. Visitors can attend 'town hall'-style meetings to share their input on what an ideal community would be like. After that, a group of artists will work with an installation crew to build a miniature city featuring a variety of spaces. Special performances and lectures on various topics will take place throughout the exhibition's run.

The Ebenezer Maxwell Mansion is the only Victorian house museum in Philadelphia. Ebenezer Maxwell and his wife, Anna Smith Maxwell, were builders and first occupants of the Maxwell Mansion. The Maxwell family had lived in the house only three years when they sold the Mansion to William and Rosalie Hunter. The Ebenezer Maxwell Mansion appears on the National Register of Historic Places.
