Perky Edgerton: Short Stories
'Short Stories' features paintings by Perky Edgerton. This is Edgerton's first solo exhibition with Gross McCleaf. Refusing to take any part in promoting a hard Modernist position or aesthetic agenda, Edgerton's focus remains on the subjective experience of the artist in her studio producing an object of intrinsic beauty worthy of contemplation. Self-proclaimed influences as diverse as quattrocento Italian Renaissance painting and her own experiences of living in exotic locales, most recently Sri Lanka, all come together in an amalgamation uniquely her own.
