Detroit singer and songwriter Sixto Rodgriguez started in the late '60s, playing offbeat, soulful folk-rock that earned him comparisons to Bob Dylan and Love's Arthur Lee. But his career stalled when his record label ran into financial problems. Years later, Rodriguez became something of a cult hero in Australia and South Africa. Recently, two of his albums from the early '70s were reissued.

April is poetry month. Please join Ernest Yates for a half-hour poetry reading on the topic "Ah, Philadelphia" followed by a reception. Mr. Yates holds a Doctorate in Literature from the University of Pennsylvania and is a past winner of the grand prize of the Pennsylvania Poetry Society as well as other poetry awards. For over 30 years he has walked the streets of Philadelphia and recorded his impressions in photographs and numerous books of poetry.
