Four events will cause road closures in Philadelphia this weekend.
On Saturday, the Pro-Act Recovery Walk will close streets in Old City and Center City. The walk begins at 9 a.m., and the closures will be on Chestnut Street east of Front Street to Penn’s Landing; on Front Street between Chestnut and Walnut; on Walnut from Front Street to 7th Street; on 7th street from Walnut to Chestnut; and on Chestnut from 7th Street to Penn’s Landing.
The walk is set to end at noon, although streets may be blocked off before and after the event, and traffic in the area may be heavy.
The Parkway Run takes place on Sunday and roads will close beginning at 4 a.m. The Parkway between Logan Circle and Eakins Oval will be closed off, and so will Martin Luther King Drive from Eakins Oval until Sweet Briar Drive.
The run is expected to conclude by 11:30 a.m., when set-up will begin along the Parkway and Eakins Oval for the Puerto Rican Day Parade. The Parkway will continue to be closed off through the parade, which is set to finish after midnight.
Also on Sunday, the Global Energy Run/Walk will close a main waterfront thoroughfare from 6:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. Closures are on South Christopher Columbus Boulevard between Spring Garden Street and Washington Avenue, and on Delaware Avenue between Spring Garden Street and Shackamaxon Street.
