Gov. Wolf has appointed State Rep. Dwight Evans (D., Phila.) to represent the governor on the SEPTA board.

Wolf said he was "very confident" Evans would help advance the governor's plans for a "more robust transportation system" in the region, a spokesman for Wolf said.

Evans, who will replace Republican lawyer and former Montgomery County Commissioner Thomas Jay Ellis on the 15-member board, said he expects to take the seat at Thursday's board meeting. He said he will advocate for improving SEPTA's infrastructure.
