Try life in the 'Fast Lane' at Aldean show Saturday

BB&T concert goers can jump to the head of the line with their TSA Pre-check credentials.

Spending an extra $5 just to gain speedier "Fast Lane" entry to a concert  is a marketing concept that's come and pretty much gone.  But getting in more quickly just by flashing your TSA PreCheck "KTN" (Known Traveler Number) — now that's an idea we could get in front of. And you can, too, if your boots are walking to the Jason Aldean-topped country show at BB&T Pavilion in Camden this Saturday.

IdentoGo,  the  government-sanctioned provider of TSA PreCheck enrollment, will  be offering a "Fast Pass Lane" at the concert accessible to those presenting their KTN.  The "fast lane" will be featured at the venue for the rest of the season.  The  zoom-zoom chute  won't get you right to the beer line, but  more quickly to security personnel who do pat-downs and bag checks.

Of course, the real reason IdentoGo will  be at the show is to raise awareness  and sign up new customers on site — Saturday only — for its expedited screening service, which speeds preapproved travelers through the airport security mess that's made traveling  such a stress.  (Missing a plane is far worse than missing the first song or two of a concert!)

TSA PreCheck certification  (often spelled out with a check mark) requires applicants to fill out a short questionnaire (Are you a citizen? Where were you born? What countries have you visited?)  and present your "papers"  — a passport or birth certificate, plus another government-issued ID.  Fingerprints also are taken. Then IdentoGo  parent company, MophoTrust USA ("the United States leader in identity solutions"), runs the info to certify you're not on a government watch list or a terror list.  Naturally, there's a fee for the process: $85, which covers enrollment for five years and will speed the security checking  (those enrolled don't have to take off their shoes or remove their belts) through a separate lane at more than two dozen U.S. airports. (Overseas travelers do better to pay the $100 fee for an alternative service, Global Entry,  TSA counsels.)

The TSA PreCheck enrollment  won't be any cheaper at the BB&T Pavilion, but the sign-up process at the parked-out-front IdentoGo Tour Bus  (starting at 6:30 p.m.) will be "fast and painless if you bring all the required documents," vowed a spokesperson, "Lots easier than making an appointment and traveling to one of our regular sign-up centers." (See them at www.identogo.com.)

And of course, you'll then make up time sliding into the show.
