PennApps Hackathon

About 1,500 students participated over the weekend in the twice-yearly, PennApps Hackathon coding contest at the University of Pennsylvania. During the three-day event, programmers work in teams to create Web, mobile, or hardware applications for $46,060 in prizes.

Sunday's winners were a team from Spain that created a tracking app using Android Wear to get first responders to the scenes of cardiac arrests faster. They took home $3,000 and swag including Thalmic Myo, Oculus DK2, Leap Motion, Raspberry Pi B, and Android Wear.
