Verizon Communications Inc. boosted rates on FiOS TV by 21 percent Oct. 1.
The company says in a letter to customers that it raised the monthly rate to $57.99 from $47.99 on the FiOS TV Premier package.
A Verizon spokesman Rich Young said the rate hike wouldn't effect large numbers of customers because people typically take FiOS TV in a bundle.
"We've added more TV channels and more innovative features that you can only get on the FiOS network," the company said in its letter announcing the new rate. - Bob Fernandez
