Two Philly-area specialty children's stores merge

The Nesting House and Cloth, two Philadelphia-area small businesses specializing in children's clothing, toys, and accessories, are merging.

Starting Feb. 18, Cloth, a natural-products baby store, which owner Angela Halperin opened on East Passyunk Avenue in 2013, will become the Nesting House's fourth store, the businesses announced Thursday.

The Nesting House was launched in 2010 by parents Jennifer and Christopher Kinka who opened a children's shop in Mount Airy offering products manufactured in a socially and environmentally conscious way and also issuing cash or store credit for gently-used items children have outgrown. Its other stores are in West Philadelphia and Collingswood, N.J.

Halperin will continue to manage her South Philadelphia store along with leading a new natural baby division for the Nesting House, according to the merger announcement.
