Harold Taussig Sr., 91, an entrepreneur, fair-trade advocate and founder of Untours Foundation, a financial-support nonprofit for small businesses, died Monday, Jan. 11, at his home in Media.

Since its creation in 1993 by Mr. Taussig and his wife, Norma, from proceeds from their Untours travel-planning business, the Untours Foundation (originally called Idyll Foundation) has issued more than $7 million in loans to small start-ups and businesses that create economic opportunities to alleviate poverty.

Norma Taussig died in July.

"The foundation and business will carry on as Hal and Norma set it up to," Untours Foundation executive director Elizabeth Killough said Wednesday.

A private, invitation-only memorial service will be held.

In late winter, Untours and the foundation plan to cohost a public celebration of Mr. Taussig's life with B Lab, the Wayne nonprofit behind B corporations.
