The four-bedroom home in Pennsport has three cozy fireplaces, a new bathroom, a fully finished basement, multiple outdoor spaces - and really nice neighbors, according to the current owner.

When David Christian and his wife, Hayley, were house hunting in 2014, they knew they wanted a home that could accommodate the family they were planning. A four-bedroom home in Pennsport was the perfect fit, with a fully finished basement and multiple outdoor spaces.

"We really felt that we could grow into this house with a family and spend the next part of our lives here," Christian said.

They also were drawn to the property's proximity to highways for commuting and a surprising amount of parking.

"Parking can also be an issue in South Philly, but there are always spots underneath 95," he said.

Since moving in, Christian said, the couple has done some renovating. More was planned but then they learned they would be relocating to New York City for a new job for Hayley.

"We were planning on doing a few simple things that we were really excited about," he said. "But we found out we would be moving a few months ago, so unfortunately, we never got around to it."

He said the couple did have time to replace some kitchen amenities and install a new bathroom on the second floor. They also did some cosmetic work to the master suite, which takes up the entire third floor.

"The third-floor master bedroom's size with an en-suite bathroom is very unique for a South Philly house," Christian said.

The suite also includes private roof deck access.

Christian said the suite is among his favorite parts of the home, but he also appreciates some of the interior touches.

"The three working fireplaces are amazing," he said. "Who doesn't love sitting around a fire on the weekends or holidays?"

The couple expects new buyers will be attracted to some of the same things they have appreciated about their home: its investment value and the popular Pennsport neighborhood.

"It's a great investment," Christian said. "If someone wanted to move in and over time invest for some upgrades and a few modern amenities, I think it would add significant value to the home."

As they prepare to relocate, he said the couple will miss their tight-knit block.

"We'll miss our neighbors the most," he said. "In just a few short years some of our neighbors have become like family."

The home is listed with Kevin Barmann at Keller Williams for $350,000.

"We hate to part with the house because we have loved calling it home," he said.
