Meeting-space chain Convene expands at United Plaza after acquiring the Hub

The operator of meeting, event and conference venues is adding another full floor to its space at the 30 S. 17th St. high-rise.

Meeting-space chain Convene is expanding in the United Plaza office building at 30 S. 17th Street, months after entering the Philadelphia market with its acquisition of the Hub.

Convene has signed a lease with building owner CBRE to add an additional full floor to its space in the Center City high-rise, boosting its footprint there to 45,000 square feet from 15,000 square feet, the chain said in a release this week.

Through its acquisition announced in February, Convene also took over former Hub locations at Cira Centre near 30th Street Station and at Commerce Square at 20th and Market Streets.

The chain also operates meeting, event and conference venues in New York and Washington, with additional locations planned in Boston and Los Angeles, it said.
