Gloucester Twp. Pizza Hut site purchased for redevelopment

The site of a freestanding Pizza Hut in Gloucester Township has been acquired by a local investor who plans a new development project there, according to commercial real estate firm Markeim Chalmers Inc., which helped broker the deal.

The 1.1-acre parcel at 1320 Blackwood-Clementon Rd. was sold by Capital Pizza Huts Inc. of Wichita, Kan., for $450,000, Markeim Chalmers said in a release, which did not identify the buyer.

The buyer shares a Northeast Philadelphia address with the headquarters of Sparks Marketing Group, according to an online record of the transaction. Sparks, a provider of trade-show exhibits and retail displays, also has offices in New York, Los Angeles, Shanghai and other cities.

Sparks spokeswoman Kristy Elisano said she was unaware of the transaction. Markeim Chalmers president Fred Berlinsky, who negotiated the sale on the buyer's behalf, did not return calls seeking comment.
