Addition proposed for Immaculate Mary nursing home

The owner of the Immaculate Mary Center for Rehabilitation & Healthcare has scaled down its proposal for an addition to the nursing home in the Holme Circle neighborhood

The owner of the Immaculate Mary Center for Rehabilitation & Healthcare has scaled down its proposal for an addition to the nursing home in the Holme Circle neighborhood of Northeast Philadelphia to three stories from four, according to an Aug. 23 submission to Philadelphia’s Civic Design Review Committee.

The application describes the project as an "extension of group living, personal care home" by 68,060 gross square feet, down from 73,850 gross square feet in the previous proposal. The plan calls for single-occupancy rooms, but no increase in the number of beds. Immaculate Mary has 296 beds, according to federal data.

The nursing home’s owner Charles-Edouard Gros, who bought the property from the Archdiocese of Philadelphia in 2014, did not respond to a request for more information. That $145 million deal included six additional nursing homes and senior-living facilities.
