Philadelphia-based coworking-space operator Benjamin’s Desk is planning more than 17,000 square feet of shared offices, meeting rooms and event spaces at what is known as the Studebaker Building on North Broad Street.
The new coworking facility at what once was an auto showroom near Broad Street and Ridge Avenue is expected to open in the fall, Benjamin’s Desk co-founder Anthony Maher said in an email Tuesday.
The space is being called Divine Works because of its proximity to the Divine Lorraine Hotel, which is now being restored as apartments, Benjamin’s Desk said in a release. Both buildings are owned by developer Eric Blumenfeld, who has renovated a number of aged buildings nearby.
Benjamin’s Desk currently manages 130,000 square feet of coworking space in and around Philadelphia in eight separate locations, including at the University of Pennsylvania’s Pennovation Center facility and at the Curtis Building near Washington Square.
