A dispute between Public Health Management Corp. and one of its subsidiaries, the National Nurse-Led Care Consortium sharpened Wednesday when PHMC asked the consortium’s board, stocked with national nursing experts, to resign or be replaced in two weeks whether or not they resign.

The National Nurse-Led Care Consortium (NNCC) has been seeking its independence from PHMC, alleging that PHMC’s escalating management fee and other problems have jeopardized its mission.

PHMC responded with “an independent forensic audit, PHMC uncovered accounting irregularities in certain transactions involving NNCC and third parties,” according to a statement from PHMC.

NNCC said its board “has at all times acted with complete fidelity to NNCC and with steadfast integrity.”
