Exton-based West Pharmaceutical Services completes plant expansion in Ireland

West Pharmaceutical Services announced Tuesday that it has completed work on a 60,000-square-foot expansion of a manufacturing plant in Dublin, Ireland. The Exton-based medical-device company said its contract manufacturing business, known formerly as the Tech Group, will now do business under the West brand.

West Pharmaceuticals, which makes pharmaceutical packaging and drug-delivery devices for injectable medicines and health-care products, also is building a $123.5 million manufacturing plant in Waterford, Ireland, that is expected to be completed in 2018.

West, which employs 450 in Exton, projects full-year 2016 net sales will be between $1.51 billion and $1.52 billion. Shares in the company closed up 66 cents, or 0.81 percent, to $82.34.
