Jefferson Surgery Center in Cherry Hill, a $17 million joint venture of Jefferson Health, Rothman Institute, several Philadelphia-based physicians, and NueHealth LLC, is scheduled to open this month, NueHealth said Tuesday.
The 22,000 square-foot ambulatory surgery center on the former Kennedy Health System campus was planned before Thomas Jefferson University announced its intention to acquire Kennedy in January 2016. The facility has a full-time staff of 15 clinical associates, six operating rooms, two procedure rooms, and the capacity for 10,000 procedures annually, said NueHealth, a Leawood, Kansas, health care management and investment firm. The first procedure is scheduled for the 19th.
NueHealth will provide the new facility with day-to-day management and operations support, including accounting, materials management, payer contracting, benefits administration, and billing and collections.
In Royersford, Nuehealth has partnered with Rothman, Main Line Health, and Jefferson to own and operate Physicians Care Surgical Hospital.
