Beneficial Bank, Philadelphia, has named Michael J. Donahue to its board. A veteran of 16 boards of directors, he works as an adviser to growth companies funded by the venture-capital firm NewSpring Capital. Previously, he was chief operating officer, KPMG L.L.P. and KPMG Consulting (BearingPoint).

Delaware Valley Floral Group, Sewell, has elected Christine Jacobs and Ron Carkoski to the board of the family-owned floral-distribution company. Jacobs served as senior vice president of operations for NRG Energy. Carkoski is president and CEO of Four Seasons Produce.

Philadelphia Works, the workforce development board for the City of Philadelphia, has named the following to its board: Shari Brightful, assistant district administrator for the Pennsylvania Office of Vocational Rehabilitation; Cheryl Feldman, executive director of District 1199C Training & Upgrading Fund; Daniel K. Fitzpatrick, president of Citizens Bank of Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware; and Michael A. Nutter, mayor of Philadelphia. The Greater Philadelphia Cultural Alliance has added as board members: Denice M. Hasty, senior vice president of business marketing and product management at Comcast Business, Comcast Corp.; Jeri Lynne Johnson, founding artistic director of the Black Pearl Chamber Orchestra; Kathryn Ott Lovell, executive director of the Fairmount Park Conservancy; Ken Metzner, executive director of Kun-Yang Lin/Dancers; and Rosalind Remer, vice provost and Lenfest executive director, Center for Cultural Partnerships at Drexel University.

Strongbridge Biopharma Plc., a Dublin, Ireland, and Trevose-based biopharmaceutical company, has elected Garheng Kong to its board. He is founder and managing partner of HealthQuest Capital.

Robert E. Mortensen has been reelected chair of the Rutgers University-Camden board of directors, and George Rears has been elected vice chair. Mortensen is an independent transportation consultant advising governments regarding concession options for the privatization of state-owned and -operated railroads. Rears is the senior director of technology at Association Headquarters.

Col. S. Rogers Wetherill has been elected to the board of trustees at University of the Sciences, Philadelphia. Wetherill is a retired Army pharmacy officer with more than 24 years of hospital pharmacy experience.
