Motorists will be able to legally drive 70 miles an hour on part of the Pennsylvania Turnpike, starting next week.

The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission said Friday the 70-mph limit will be put in place on a 100-mile stretch of toll road in the south central part of the state, beginning July 23.

The zone will be between the Blue Mountain Interchange (exit 201) and the Morgantown Interchange (exit 298).

The Turnpike Commission said it will unveil other speed-limit changes for the turnpike next week.

The current speed limit is 65.
