The University of Pennsylvania's School of Veterinary Medicine appointed Kathy Michel associate dean of education. She is professor of nutrition at Penn Vet.

Upland Country Day School, Kennett Square, named Thomas J. Reid as the next head of school, effective July 1. He currently serves as interim head of school at Palmer Trinity School in Palmetto Bay, Fla.

Reed Smith L.L.P., an international law firm, named the following partners in its Philadelphia office: Joel S. Barras, labor and employment, from counsel; Luke E. Debevec, insurance recovery, from associate; Heather A. Ritch, life sciences and health industry group, from associate; and David A. Surbeck, financial industry group (financial services transaction), from counsel.

The following associates were named counsel: Kerry Halpern, tax, benefits and wealth planning; Sara A. Lima, state tax, and Anne B. Ryan, real estate.

J. Robert Beck has been named deputy director and chief academic and administrative officer of Fox Chase Cancer Center, Philadelphia. Beck, who holds the H.O. West and J.R. Wike Chair in Cancer Research, will retain the title of chief medical officer.

Henry Chi Hang Fung, a leader in the field of blood diseases and bone-marrow transplantation, has joined Fox Chase Cancer Center as clinical leader of the Blood Cancers Program and the Hematologic Oncology Service Line, and professor of medical oncology. He will also be director of the Temple University Hospital bone-marrow transplant program.

Savran Benson L.L.P., Bala Cynwyd, has hired Wendy Kleiner as an associate. She had been an accountant at LimorGoodman P.C.

Nationalities Service Center, Philadelphia, hired Margaret M. O'Sullivan as executive director. She will lead the nonprofit's team in its efforts to help immigrants and refugees by providing social, educational and legal services. O'Sullivan had been chief program officer and interim chief executive officer of the American Red Cross of Southeastern Pa.

FirstService Residential, a Philadelphia property-management company, promoted Gina Donovan to regional director, High Rise Division. She had been community manager.

Eureka Growth Capital, a Philadelphia private-equity firm that targets niche market leaders with up to $75 million in revenue, promoted Alexandra Oswald to vice president and hired Brendan Stancato as an analyst on its investment team. Oswald had been senior associate. Stancato had been an analyst at Harris Williams & Co.

Robert J. Hagerty has established an employment law practice, Hagerty Law P.C., in Moorestown. Hagerty had been a shareholder at the law firm Capehart & Scatchard, Mount Laurel, and served as chair of its labor and employment department.

Hangley Aronchick Segal Pudlin & Schiller, Philadelphia, elected Bonnie M. Hoffman a shareholder and named Michael R. Carlson, Adena Herskovitz, and Alva C. Mather of counsel.

Fibrocell Science Inc., an Exton biotechnology company that develops treatments for skin diseases and conditions, hired Robert Sheroff as vice president of technical operations. Before joining Fibrocell, he was senior vice president of global operations at Biogen-Idec.

Keane, a King of Prussia provider of unclaimed-property consulting, unclaimed-property reporting, and customized communication services, hired Lisa Montelban as manager in its National Consulting & Advisory Services Group. She had been vice president of operations control and regulatory reporting at Credit Suisse.

Delta Point, a Malvern life-science industry consulting firm, hired Dean Hart as senior vice president. He had been senior vice president, sales, at Takeda Pharmaceuticals North America.

Edward Doran has joined the accounting firm Isdaner & Co. L.L.C., Bala Cynwyd, as manager in the tax department. He was a tax director at BDO United States.
