Once the transient contractors build the pipeline, what jobs will be left, to offset the inevitable spills? How will the flowing oil to be taxed pay for monitoring and cleanups? What, if any, bond or escrow funds will be available to pay? Why can't the Canadians just refined it where they extract it, then ship the stuff from their own ports, which will become more numerous as the Arctic ice melts and frees up more Northwest passages? Jinchesco- If they go ahead with the pipeline, it will be a CEO's dream. Boehner knows how to keep CEO's happy. He knows what's good for the CEO's is good for America. GOPee_er
- But CEO's don't give a damn about America.

There are miles and miles of pipelines in the U.S. This is an issue because Obama is president and he wants to make a fuss to give his base something to cheer about. With Obama, everything's politically driven and a dog whistle. Phillies2008WSChamps
i bet that will be a jobs bust like drilling in PA is. Donald Segretti
The GOP gets a lot of money from Big Oil. Big Oil gets a lot of tax breaks and subsidies from American taxpayers. Makes you wonder if there's a connection. philapat
