CEDC selling stock and notes

Central European Distribution Corp., the Bala Cynwyd-based company that is Poland's largest vodka producer and major distributor of alcoholic beverages in Poland, is launching a public offering of 9.5 million shares of its stock.

It is also selling $870 million of senior secured notes.

The company plans to use net proceeds from the offering to purchase remaining equity interests in Russian Alcohol Group and to repay earlier debt.

Shares were trading at $32.53 in the early afternoon, down from the opening price of $33.70.    - Jane M. Von Bergen
