Glaxo closing plant in Ireland

GlaxoSmithKline P.L.C. said today that it would close its Stiefel factory in Sligo, western Ireland by the end of 2013, Bloomberg News reported.

Stiefel employs 250 workers at the plant, the company said today in an e-mailed statement to Bloomberg.

Glaxo has major operations in the Philadelphia region.
