Bon-Ton to shut Ohio store

The Bon-Ton Stores Inc., a York-based department store chain, said it will close its Elder-Beerman Salem furniture store in Trotwood, Ohio, in early December.

The decision to close the site was made after a review of its performance, Bon-Ton said, without offering details.

The store's 10 employees can interview for jobs at other Elder-Beerman locations, the company said.

Bon-Ton operates 279 stores in 23 states.       - Paul Schweizer
