Sesame Place in Langhorne and the rest of Anheuser-Busch InBev NV's amusement park business are being sold to a private investment firm for as much as $2.7 billion, the companies announced today.

The purchaser is Blackstone Group LP of New York, the world's biggest buyout firm. The other parks it is buying include SeaWorld in Florida, California and Texas, and Busch Gardens in Virginia and Florida.

AB InBev, the world's largest brewer, inherited the parks unit as part of its $52 billion takeover of Anheuser-Busch last year. The company has since cut jobs, culled marketing budgets, and sold assets to pay down debt.
