A report by an energy-conservation advocacy group contends that Pennsylvania households would save an average of $236 per year and 17,600 jobs would be created in the state over the next decade if Congress passes an energy and climate bill approved in June by the House.
The report by the American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy was released locally yesterday by PennEnvironment ahead of Senate debate on the climate bill. Its findings conflict with assessments by fossil-fuel advocates that the legislation would increase energy costs and drive jobs overseas to more permissive countries. - Andrew Maykuth
