Environmental Tectonics wins $2.5M order

Environmental Tectonics Corp. of Southampton said today that it won a $2.5 million contract to provide 12 sterilizers with new control systems, piping and a water distribution system.

The project for an unidentified customer in the United States is designed to cut consumption of water by reusing cooling water and nearly eliminating all wastewater from the current sterilizers, ETC said. It added that the customer will reduce its energy and maintenance costs.

Sterilizers are specialized chambers in which microorganisms such as bacteria and fungus are destroyed.

ETC's sterilization systems unit provides equipment and services for the medical device, pharmaceutical, biotechnology and health-care industries.
