Drug research company wins new contracts

Encorium Group Inc. of Wayne said today said it was awarded $6.5 million in contracts, primarily to conduct two oncology clinical trials with a U.S. biopharmaceutical company.

The trials will be conducted in Europe.

Encorium said it will begin to receive revenue from the contracts in the current quarter.

The company performs clinical research, specializing in designing and managing trials of new products for the pharmaceutical industry. The drugs are for treatment of infectious and cardiovascular diseases, cancer, diabetes and other health areas.
