Gasoline average steady for U.S.; but up in region
The national average for a gallon of regular gasoline held over the weekend at a record $3.28, but prices continued to rise in Southeastern Pennsylvania and South Jersey, the AAA Mid-Atlantic auto club said today.

The price in Philadelphia and its Pennsylvania suburbs went up a penny to $3.22 per gallon. In South Jersey it rose 2 cents over the weekend to $3.04 per gallon, AAA said. Both prices mark new regional highs for 2008.
Diesel hit a U.S. high today at $4 per gallon.
