Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission member Pamela A. Witmer is leaving the five-member commission at the end of April to become vice president of government affairs at UGI Energy Services, the marketing, pipeline and power-generation subsidiary of UGI Corp.

A Republican appointee of Gov. Corbett, Witmer's five-year term expired April 1. Her departure leaves a vacancy on the five-member commission, which is currently comprised of two Democrats and two Republicans. Gov. Wolf has not nominated a successor, who will require Senate approval.

Before her appointment to the PUC, Witmer led the energy and environment practice for Harrisburg-based Bravo Group, a public-relations firm. She was previously president of the Pennsylvania Chemical Industry Council, a trade association.
