Aramark improves Greenpeace sustainable seafood score

Greenpeace released its second Sustainable Seafood Scorecard Tuesday.

Aramark and food-service competitors Sodexo and Compass Group showed significant improvement in Greenpeace’s second Sustainable Seafood Scorecard, which was released Tuesday.

Aramark’s score jumped to 57.6 points from the barely passing 40.1 point score in last year’s edition of the report, which grades companies on policy, sourcing, advocacy, traceability, and inventory.

Among seven food-service companies, the Philadelphia company moved into second place, behind Sodexo but ahead of Compass.

“We are proud of the significant progress we have made with seafood and responsible sourcing across our supply chain,” an Aramark spokeswoman said.
