Pa. casino table games revenue down in February

Revenue from table games fell 17 percent at SugarHouse Casino in Fishtown last month, compared to the year before, but it wasn't because of a lack of gamblers, general manager Wendy Hamilton said Thursday.

"SugarHouse's table volume year-over-year and in February was actually up," Hamilton said. "Our players just had a very lucky month, which is even more reason to stop by in March."

SugarHouse's revenue from poker, blackjack, and other table games was $7.6 million, down from $9.2 million last year, the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board reported.

Statewide, table games revenue fell 2.8 percent, to $66.2 million last month, from $68.2 million last year. Last February was in a leap year and had an extra day.

Valley Forge Casino Resort had a steep, 31 percent decline in table games revenue, to $2.3 million this year from $3.2 million a year ago. Managers of the King of Prussia property did not provide a comment.

Also locally, Parx Casino's table games revenues were up 2.8 percent, to $13.6 million. In Chester, Harrah's Philadelphia posted a 7.4 percent gain, to $5.4 million.
