Nemours taking space at DuPont Experimental Station

Nemour's Children's Health System said Thursday that 68 Nemours scientists, clinical investigators, post doctorate fellows, and support staff in its Nemours Biomedical Research operation will move to the DuPont Experimental Station near Wilmington.

Nemours will lease two floors with 85,000 square feet in a building that is adjacent to Nemours/Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children and the Nemours Estate, the tax-exempt organization said.

This month DuPont Co., which is attempting to complete a $130 billion merger with Dow Chemical Co., said it would spend $200 million to modernize and upgrade the 114-year-old research facility in a bid to attract tenants.

Nemours said its biomedical research arm ranked 11th in the nation last year for National Institutes of Health pediatric research funding.
