Service restored after Google Drive down for many

Service to Google Drive has been restored after many users experienced intermittent outages this morning.

Widespread complaints were posted on Twitter from users unable to access their Google Drive accounts, starting before 10 a.m..

On its Apps Status dashboard, Google was reporting a Drive service disruption.

"We're aware of a problem with Google Drive affecting a significant subset of users," a message from Google posted shortly after 11 a.m. said.

At 12:35 p.m., Google said the problem had been resolved.

Some users were experiencing slow-loading Drive pages, or having trouble saving files. Others saw 502 error messages that read: "The server encountered a temporary error and could not complete your request."

Several technology blogs reported that an upcoming note-collecting service from Google, called Google Keep, was briefly accessible Sunday at drive.google.com/keep, but was later taken down.
