Blossom Philadelphia outsources residential staffing

Blossom Philadelphia turned to Integrity Workforce Solutions LLC to help with staffing turnover in residences for disabled clients.

Blossom Philadelphia, formerly United Cerebral Palsy of Philadelphia & Vicinity, has asked 179 of its employees who work in 31 residences for disabled clients to take jobs with Integrity Workforce Solutions LLC, a long-term staffing company based in Haverford.

The move was driven by the needed to constantly recruit and train staff, said the nonprofit's spokeswoman Michele Toy.

"We found that our residential supervisors had been dedicating over 65 percent of their time to sorting out staffing assignments and coverage, calling on the direct support staff to fill in the overtime gaps," Toy said.

Toy said the deal with Integrity Workforce Solutions, which is affiliated with Staffing Plus Inc., also in Haverford, is for all 179 Blossom staffers to be offered positions at Integrity.

Including the employees going to Integrity, Blossom employs 307, Toy said. Blossom had $16.8 million in revenue in the year ended June 30, 2015, according to its latest 990 tax return.
